How does Easely work?
Easely aids the development process by embedding a powerful workflow into the IDE. You’ll discover the right changes to make on a faster timeline while reducing amount of bugs.
The Theory of Constraints tells us that it’s the critical constraint which determines the overall throughput of a system. Usually, that’s engineering. A lot of tools focus on the rate of the developer’s output, but not the correctness of that output. We don’t build a successful product by optimising the local maxima of code per hour. We do it by producing the right code in that hour. The right code is leaner and easier to maintain, which is the source of much of the development cost.
Easely accomplishes this by bringing the Mikado Method into your IDE. You’ll iteratively run small experiments to uncover learning units, which will direct your next steps. It will help you stay organised and minimise the changes you’ll need to make to get to the right place with less code to maintain.
How did you solve the AI problem?
It’s simple: we capitalise on the human mind and keep AI out of our tools. We believe that creativity belongs to humans! At Amplify, we draw boundaries around AI. We will not use it to do our creative work. We do the creative work.
Software developers have been led to believe that we are more productive with AI, as many “studies” have “shown”. Revealingly, those were studies which measured subjective self-reports; how they felt. Opinion is a notoriously bias-prone data stream. Our human nature comes with biases: it feels more productive because it takes less effort to offload our skilled work. In contrast, studies which took an objective look at the impact of AI found that those who used it had a decrease in brain activity and a reduction in productivity.
